What a wonderful time in Ballymahon for National Play Day!

Longford County Council wishes to thank everyone who took part in the activities at the Ballymahon Vocational School campus to celebrate National Play Day recently.

Dozens of children, their parents, friends, and neighbours enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of fun, activities, laughter and play.

We want to thank all our clubs, organisations, volunteers, and partners who helped make the day such a success, and especially our Longford Sports Partnership, Healthy Ireland Longford, Longford PPN and Longford Community Safety Partnership.

The day also would not have been possible without the wonderful assistance of Longford Civil Defence, the Ballymahon and Mid Longford Area Staff, Courtney Corcoran, photographer Shelley Corcoran, and Ballymahon Vocational School for the use of their school grounds and facilities for the day. It was very much appreciated.

The community spirit on show made National Play Day 2026 a wonderful occasion for young and old!
